The course aims to introduce the students of petroleum engineering with the techniques of horizontal and horizontal drilling, the cases in which this technique is used, the types of sloping wells, the methods used for drilling slanting sections of the directed wells, the study of the design of the drilling pipe group, the drilling heads used in the diagonal drilling, When using drill holes or submersible motors (turbines, electric motors), learn how to control the drilling of slanted sections through the use of devices that measure azimuth angle and slope and horizontal displacement of the bottom of the well from the shafts at each depth, The shape of sloping wells, and the most important problems encountered during the drilling of slanting wells and ways to avoid them
1- Introducing the students of petroleum engineering with techniques of horizontal and horizontal drilling.
2- To know the cases in which this technique is used for slant drilling and types of slanting wells.
3 - Teaching students how to design a set of drill pipes drilling heads used in the drilling of oblique.
