The Syrian Private University is pleased to announce the acceptance of a research abstract submitted by the Faculty of Pharmacy for presentation at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026, which will be held in Madrid, Spain, during the period 23–27 October 2026. This congress is among the most prestigious international conferences specialized in cancer research and immunotherapy.
The research was titled: "Delayed Diagnosis, Limited Molecular Testing, and Targeted Therapy Patterns for Colorectal Cancer in a Conflict-Affected University Teaching Hospital in Syria." The research was carried out with the participation of Prof. Dr. Hussam Al-Din Shahroura, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Hanadi Al-Mutait, Professor at the Syrian Private University; and the student research team from the Syrian Private University: Raneem Idris, Abdullah Asfour, and Omar Basbous, in collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University.
The particular significance of this achievement lies in the fact that it is the first research abstract accepted with student participation from the Faculty of Pharmacy at an international conference of this caliber, reflecting the faculty's commitment to promoting scientific research and nurturing a new generation of young researchers.
