General Information

Description

The characteristics of fluid flow within the producing layer are the basis of the reservoir studies. This is based on knowledge of fluid properties within reservoir conditions, which can be precisely determined by sampling bottom hole oil under reservoir conditions and by studying it in detail and accurately using a special station called the PVT station. It depends on the measurements of both pressure, volume and temperature at the same time. Therefore, the students will be taught how to take the bottom hole oil sample and transfer it to the laboratory cylinder and then to the PVT cell, in addition to the detailed explanation of the various measurements that are being carried out in order to obtain an integrated report that provides access to all the necessary data for conducting various reservoir studies In order to explation oil reservoirs with the best possible return.

Expectations and Goals

Define the student as follows:

1. The main parts of the PVT station.

2. Method of transferring the sample from the sampler to the laboratory cylinder and to the PVT cell.

3 - Different ways of separating gas from oil that simulate the separation processes in the reservoir.

4- The method of conducting the various calculations in order to obtain the necessary data and their graphs.

5. How to prepare the report on PVT measurements, its importance and how to benefit from it.
