Abstract:
Cochrene anhydrite layer is composed of shelly sediments with anhydrite and plaster. This formation is located at an average depth of (800-2400 m). This formation is influenced by the fluid filtrate.
In this paper we will examine the ability of acrylic polymers (Sodium Polyacrylate (SPA) and Partially Hydrolysed Poly Acrylamide) and some salts (Sodium Chlorine, Potassium Chlorine) to improve the specifications of drilling fluids, and increase their ability to neutralize the shale bands during in drilling the Cochrene anhydrite in the fields of the central region of By minimizing filtrate loss, isolating the shale bands in the formation, isolating the bore outputs and making them neutral for the drilling fluid.
To assess the extent of swelling of clay samples by calculating the constant and swelling pressure, and suggest drilling fluids that achieved less swelling constant and less swelling pressure for field clay samples.
