In spite of the many severe procedures, there is still a risk of infection of contagious diseases transmitted blood transfusion despite the negative tests at the moment of donation, as a result of the period of "window serous" and varies from country to country depending on the prevalence of these diseases and safety measures taken in each country.

OBJECTIVE: To emphasize the importance of applying safety measures such as automation and the use of an information program for blood transfusion centers, as well as the selection of donors for medical questioning directed at reducing the residual risk of infection with infectious diseases transmitted by blood through decreasing the rate of positive signs of diseases

Blood transfusion in blood donors.
