- Arabic Language
Module Code: REQU105
This module aims at effectively empowering students’ relation with their native language and culture by building capacities in terms of receiving and producing this language. This is achieved by focusing on the skills of reading, writing and speaking. This will eventually make students more able and competent of the language grammar and basic skills. The module has some specific aims of relating Arabic language with students’ life and work needs and requirements. The module also aims at relating students’ outcomes and abilities to cater for social and professional labour market needs. The module also aims at broadening students’ awareness of their own culture and literature through presenting a wide selection of Arabic texts. Students are trained on textual analysis and comprehension. The module also aims at developing students’ critical skills.
- Information & Computer Technologies Skills
Module Code: REQU103
This module aims at providing students with basic as well as advanced skills to use the computer. The skills taught are the ones required for home, study and also professional purposes. The module starts by presenting general terms and concepts related to information and computer technologies. It also provides the needed training for the most popular computer operating systems. The module also aims at developing students’ abilities and practical skill related to the most important and popular software packages required for study and professional life. This eventually provides students with skills required to develop their student and work performances. The module also presents issues related to distant learning and electronic communication.
- English Language 1
Module Code: REQU101
The module aims at developing students’ competencies in general English language. It equips students with tools to meet future academic, professional and life requirements. The module provides general English of a lower-intermediate (pre-intermediate) equivalent to A2 CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level. It trains learners to deal with the business of everyday life in the target language, exchange information and ideas with people of the target language, achieve a wider and deeper understanding of the way of life and forms of thoughts of other people (A2 CEF). The course provides natural, real-world grammar and vocabulary helping students to succeed in social, professional, and academic settings. It focuses on communication activities where students learn and practice the language they need to have conversations in English.
- English Language 2
Module Code: REQU207
The module aims at developing students’ competencies in general English language. It equips students with tools to meet future academic, professional and life requirements. The module provides general English of an-intermediate level equivalent to B1 CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level. It empowers learners abilities to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. They would be able to deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. The would be able to produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest as well as describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. (B1 CEF).

- Management
Module Code: REQU112
The module aims at introducing learners to management and its basic concepts, components and practices. It also presents issues on management theories and the organisation and its structures; focus is shifted towards modern management theories and approaches. Through the module learners are taught about and trained on basic management functions and skills such as those of planning, organising, supervising, coordinating, leading and decision-making. All these areas are geared towards making learners more able and competent in managing their study, life and future work. The module is empowered by the University’s philosophy of creating future potential leaders.
- Ecology
Module Code: REQU114
This module aims at raising learners’ awareness of their local and global environment and ecological system. It educates learners on issues of ecological balances and the effects and reflections on one system on another. The module encourages students to think more critically of their natural environment in order to find practical and applicable solutions for surrounding environmental problems, e.g. pollution. This is empowered by the University’s philosophy of creating an environment-friendly community. The module also discusses the relations between ecological systems and human societies. The importance of maintaining such systems as well as its variation is also discussed. Different ecological systems and geology-related factors are also dealt with in this module.
- English Language 3
Module Code: REQU302
The module aims at developing students’ competencies in general English language. It equips students with tools to meet future academic, professional and life requirements. The module provides general English of a higher-intermediate (upper-intermediate) equivalent to B2 in the CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level. The module provides natural, real-world grammar and vocabulary helping students to succeed in social, professional, and academic settings. It focuses on communication activities where students learn and practice the language they need to have complex conversations in English. It empowers students to understand the ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. It empowers learners’ abilities to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. It also helps students to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options (B2 CEF).
- Second Foreign Language (French)
Module Code: REQU106
The module aims at developing students’ competencies in general French language. It equips students with tools to meet future academic, professional and life requirements. The module provides general French of an elementary level, equivalent to A1&2 CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level. The module focuses on communication activities where students learn and practice the language and make conversations. The module is not limited to French language as it also introduces learners to the French culture. Teaching though the course progresses from basic issues and sentence structures such as introducing themselves, making questions and answers to more sophisticated ones.
- Introduction to Law
Module Code: REQU110
This module aims at introducing learners to basic legal issues. The focus is drawn on relating basic legal issues to practical real-life personal, professional and social concerns. The module is designed to raise learners awareness of the importance of legal issues in our lives. This is achieved though introducing different theories, approaches and sections to law. Issues of law interpretations, common terms, requirements, origins and rules are also covered in this module. The module provides several legal real-life case studies.
- Logic and Scientific Thinking
Module Code: REQU104
The module is aimed at developing learners’ systematic and scientific thinking that reflects on daily life, study and work. Based on some thinking techniques and strategies the module empowers learners to build their logic and objective thinking abilities. Eventually, this reflects on their study performance and research skills. The module encourages students to be more of independent learners, able of investing and researching different information sources in order to reach for answers to their enquiries or possible research. Possessing such skills creates learners able of solving problems in creative manners. The module is empowered by the philosophy of making better graduates that can positively reflect on the community, labour market and scientific research.
- Sociology
Module Code: REQU108
This module introduces major sociological issues of theoretical and practical nature. The focus, however, is drawn on applied sociology. This is believed to provide learners with better understanding of their communities and other ones. The module aids learners to develop their social skills such as social relations, social communication. Different practical aspects of social concern are presented in this module such as social problems (divorce), belonging, social equity, virtual communities and diversity are dealt with in the module. It also relates sociology to other areas of science and research.
